Brooklyn Museum

Went to First Saturdays and saw the inspiring El Anatsui show. Highly recommended. From trash to beautiful sculptural tapestries.
Roast Chicken (Prospect Heights)

Roasted chicken with some herbes de provences sprinkled on top with roasted vegetables--pretty much my favorite winter meal.
Chinese New Year (Chinatown)

It’s the year of the snake, not a very auspicious one apparently though good for science and technology. At any rate, we had a lot of fun popping confetti canons, following the lions and marching bands hitting up businesses for donations, and eating dim sum at Jing Fong.

New Suburban Geometries (Daly City, CA)

I spent one of my days in the Bay Area, visiting the Westlake section of San Francisco’s Daly City to add to my Suburban Geometries series. This post-war area was developed by Henry Doelger who also created San Francisco’s Sunset District. Aside from the colors, the variety of the house designs and landscaping is totally awesome.
